Now, 8 years later, and 3 pregnancies and postpartum experiences later, I know the best, evidence-based tools to help new moms navigate all the of unexpected. In addition to being a LMFT, I'm Perinatal Mental Health Certified (PMH-C), a Fair Play Coach, and a Gottman Bringing Baby Home facilitator.  Beyond the skills and training, I want my clients to feel like therapy is a safe place for them to tell the truth about how things are going.

Most of my clients begin therapy overwhelmed and unsure where to start, and end with a clearer sense of who they are, what they have control of, and what they want this season to look like.

I'm so glad you're here.

I'm Kylie.
I'm a therapist for new moms.

get to know me

My motherhood journey began in 2016 when I suffered a late miscarriage. I felt like I had done everything "right" and couldn't wrap my mind around how "wrong" things felt. I sought out therapy to help me process, and navigate an anxiety-ridden subsequent pregnancy. At the conclusion of my personal therapy, I decided to go to graduate school, to become a therapist for new, expecting, and grieving parents.

Most of the time, I am asking questions, listening, and offering you invitations and tools to consider based on the data we gather together about you.

Usually, we start by understanding your goals and history. I like to think of therapy as combining my expertise and training, with your expert knowledge of you: we need both to be effective. I'm an integrative therapist, which means I pull from several evidence-based therapies to suit your goals and symptoms. Often, I find myself leveraging Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which is about making peace with what we cannot change, and making values-based decisions around what we can. I find that work with postpartum moms almost always includes Family Systems work: where we talk about what was normalized for you in childhood, where your partner might be coming from, and how to find a new balance and new boundaries that feel good for the family that you are building.

With me, therapy looks like....

how does it work?

Ultimately, my goal is for us to help you feel good without me. I want our sessions to blend into your actual life, so you feel the progress and growth in your day-to-day.

+ I charge $225/session for new clients. I usually meet with clients for 3-6 months; either weekly or every other week.
+ Many of my clients get reimbursed 30-80% of my fee by submitting superbills to their insurance companies. I recommend calling the phone number on the back of your insurance card and asking for your mental health "out-of-network" rate.
+ If you gave birth this year, or plan to, it can also be helpful to check if you've hit your out-of-pocket max.

The Nitty Gritty

The large cost of therapy has kept me out of therapy in the past, so I understand the financial hurdle it can be. While nothing replaces 1:1 therapy, I offer weekly groups (<$75/session) to provide accessibility for moms who need help, but have tighter budgets. I also write a weekly substack ($10/month), where I teach the skills that often come up in my 1:1 sessions. It's my hope that all new moms get access to the care they need in one form or another.

I've been on both sides of the perinatal therapy couch, multiple times, and I know from experience how therapy can be a huge tool in reconnecting with yourself, postpartum.

My first career was in tech. I love working with clients transitioning back to work after mat leave, processing changes to their identity & ambition.

fun facts about me

I write a weekly substack that's an affordable way to learn the tools I find myself repeatedly teaching in therapy sessions. Subscribing is free, and to get all posts, it's just $5/month.
