One of the most challenging parts of being a new mom is finding postpartum mom friends who “get it”. Even new moms with supportive friends, families, and partners often find themselves searching for a community of new moms to connect with in the early days of postpartum. If you are looking for a new mom groups in Marin County, you are in the right place!

New Mom Groups in Marin County:

The Mom Walk Co

The Mom Walk Co is a popular, casual new mom meet up. It’s designed for moms of babies and toddlers who want to get out of their homes and make local mom friends. There are currently 3 local chapters in Marin County (Mill Valley, Fairfax, Novato). Currently, there’s no fee associated with the group. Usually, Mom Walk Co groups meet 2-3 times a month in different parks and locations. Often times, there are local business that “sponsor” the events and giveaway food, information, and swag! You can search their site by your zip code to find the walk closest to you.

South Marin Mother’s Club

The South Marin Mother’s club is an extremely active group, with a variety of meet ups on their calendar. Events range from low-key walks to special interest groups, like mom’s night outs, business owner meet ups, workout classes, and sober curious clubs. Their calendar (viewable on their site) often includes several events a week, all over Marin County. Because of the variety in club events, new moms can easily find options that fit with their interest, energy levels, and nap schedules.

Support Groups

If you are wanting more intentional, educational support, a new mom therapy group might be right for you. New mom support groups can to access a therapist during postpartum, while making new friends. I host a postpartum support group for new moms in Marin County. We currently meet online for convenience, but we keep the group local, so that we can do occasional in-person meet ups. Circle Moms

Circle moms is a group for moms of babies 0-3 months. They meet weekly, and have education speakers who can help with breastfeeding, pelvic floor support, and mental health education. Because they are more structured and intentionally focused on education, support, and community, these groups can be a great option for freshly postpartum moms. While the groups only last a month or so, participants are consistent, and many women end up finding lasting community with their “circle”.

Fit4mom

Fit4mom groups are a great option for women who connect more easily while doing something physical. Additionally, it’s a great option for moms who are looking for a chance to move their postpartum bodies in a safe way. Fit4mom classes welcome babies and toddlers, so you don’t need childcare! For this reason, many of the classes met at local parks, where young kids can play and explore. The classes also provide an opportunity to connect with local moms in different stages. Being a postpartum mom can be really challenging, and getting connected with a group of support moms friends can make all the difference in feeling healthy, connected, and supported in the first few months and years of your babies life. Thankfully, new moms in Marin County have fantastic opportunities to get connected to other postpartum moms and make new friends.
